Big Dog = Big Crate

So we bought Howard a new crate about a week ago. I think me and Dev were more excited to be in it then he was.

Greatest Shows Ever

Need I saw more about this one? SOOOOOO good! I really think I should have been a Vampire...

Good largely in part of these two:

Total Gleek. I crave this show and from Tuesday at 9pm to next Tuesday at 8pm I sing whatever song was featured that week. LOVE IT!
The entire cast is just delicious. Full of quirk and laughs. Funny. Highly reccommend.

Jail-Bait anyone?

Yes Please.

Already watched it about 30 times. Feel free to take a peek, but know, you will not be able to wait until November, and you will completly wish you could be both a Vampire and a Werewolf.

L Triple C

Update:
Sorry for the MAJOR lack of posting. We got so busy with work, school, trips, and Howard that we disappeared for a few months. So, we have Howard, and have had his for a while. He is now about 50+ pounds at 12 1/2 weeks and gaining about a pound a day. Horse...? Soon to be. Pictures to come.
We have gone to Cheyenne, WY, and Couer De' Alene, ID/Washington in the past month. Hannah-Banana (Collin's girlfriend) came with us and is our wonderful photog. More pics or Couer De' Alene to come. Devan is back in school and busy with school and work. Lauren is busy with work and what seems like a billion bridal showers. Tis' the summer/fall to get married I guess. I missed the memo on that one! :-)

So, these pictures are old... We have since been to Couer de' Alene to see Collin play again, and boy oh boy did he look good!

14hrs...2 days... LCCC

Thanks Banana for taking such wonderful pictures and great memorabilia. Needless to say, when you are stuck in Cheyenne, WY. the game you came to watch has been temporarily rained/wind/and lightning out, you get a little creative. Here is just a smidgen of proof:

"The White Men Can Jump"

"The Goalie"

"The Eye See You"

"The Darth Maul" or
"The I will kill you Hannah"

"The Serious"

" The 'Es un Gaye'"

"The Cheeser"
"The Driver"

Thankfully, I had this post saved.... My dear laptop kicked the bucket yesterday and we lost ALL of our life with it. Pictures, memories... gone! Darn you technology. But thanks Dad and Mom Stiles for the happy graduation/birthday present for Devan in his new computer. A much excited for Mac, a large mac. Thank you! :-) :-) :-) So more posts to come, as soon as we can get some actual footage and candid of our lives.

Pinewood Derby anyone?

Our ward (The Elder's Quorum put it on) had a little Pinewood Derby this morning. So imagine a bunch of young couples, lots of babies, and the occasional Derby dork are all included in this little excursion. If you have ever been to one of the functions, you know that people come ready to race. Their cars are legit, the gear is legit, and they have got their game faces on. Never have a I seen a group of adult men act like nothing is more precious than the moment you hear go. Wifes sit and cheer on their husbands car, although secretly they really don't care. Needless to say, Devan and I did not go in ready to win. We were missing the Mini a bit (can't you tell?), and decided to make our car a Mini. We went in knowing that we would be last place, and had no problem with that, as long as a little piece of our lives and our hearts could be entered into this race. After taping coins all over the car to give it a little extra weight, we were on our way. First couple of races go by and we haven't gone yet, there are a couple of cars that are going real fast... All we can think of is, "Remember how much fun the Mini was?" and not caring about what place we take, not even caring if our car made it to the end. When our turn gets up, we end up taking 2nd place, behind the car that won 1st place. I found myself after a couple of rounds making secret gestures and mouthing words to Devan of how we could place our coins and weight so that we would win... "Put it at the back. You need to put an ounce of weight at the back. Make sure you get some graphite on your wheels. I'm telling you, if you put more weight at the back we will win!.. ect." We ended up getting 3rd place overall. There were 14 other racers, so we give ourselves a high five. I can now consider myself a lover and official Pinewood Derby Dork. Here's to you Dev, thanks for making the best car there ever was!

The Elders Quorm in our ward put on a Pinewood Derby

No Time For Laugh Dr. Jones

First, a formal apology for the lack of posts for the past months. The Stiles' family has been busy. Between working lots of hours, selling the Mini (still a tough subject), looking at lots of houses, deciding to build a house, deciding against building a house, getting ready to move into a new apartment, wishing we didn't have to do the actual moving of apartments, getting really excited for Mckae and Nates wedding, being super pumped for little bro Collin to play college soccer in Cheyenne, WY, trying to figure out travel plans all over the mid-west to attend those soccer games, writing posts about my wonderful cuz Rob, having a wonderful pregnant sister ( kiddo#4) and a wonder pregnant sister-in-law (kiddo #3) seeing lots and lots of midnight movies and solid summer flicks, becoming painting extraordinaires when it comes to random pieces of furniture, becoming Handy Manny's when it comes to sprucing up your house, busy with the NBA finals, having another visit to the vet for one of the turtles, watching So You Think You Can Dance and loving every second of it, eating better, working out, losing weight, wishing we could go to Italy, Ireland or Hawaii, spending lots of time at Hokulia Shave Ice and becoming snow cone maker extrodinaires (Clint and Stef's new WONDERFUL shave ice place * see star below), and finally, having a new addition to our little clan...

Let me formally apologize for the not so great quality of pictures. All these two Stiles' managed to think of was to bring our phones, so pictures are courtesy of IPhone.

And now introducing D. Howard Stiles: He will simply be known as Howard.

Here is our new little guy. Howard is a black male Great Dane. (Here is where you insert your joke about it not being a dog, but a horse - not to hurt anybody's feelings, but yes, we have heard that one before...so yeah if we laugh, it is a courtesy laugh.) Howard is the oldest of his 6 brothers and sisters. He has 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He has white on all four of his paws and a little bit on his chest. He also has these beautiful almost tiger like stripes down his fur on his back, which we hope stays because it will be absolutely beautiful. Hard to believe that something so small will grow so quick.

Here is Howard's mom who is a 2 year old beautiful fawn great dane. She has some of the softest fur I have ever felt. She is 32 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds.

And here is Pops. Dad is obviously black and has the same white patch on his chest and paws. Dad's name is "Moose" and he is 35 inches tall and 185 pounds. Big boy, however one of the sweetest dogs you'll meet.
Welcome Howard. We promise to get you a great cushy bed and lots of yummy food to keep your big tummy full.

Sorry for the long post, it is long overdue, so I guess I felt it necessary to try and explain everything in one post. Thank you, Thank you for reading.

*Ever had a snow-cone in hawaii with the amazing flavors and ice cream in the middle? Well that is what Hokulia Shave Ice is, and if you would like more details on where or anything about it, let me know.

Ode to Rob

My cuz-in-law approached me yesterday in hopes that I could dedicate a post in his behalf. If I was smart enough to create a "Real Men of Genius" ad for you, I would have. Needless to say, I don't have the connections - so your getting a poem.
(If you don't know what "Real Men of Genius" is, turn up your speakers and listen here)

So here's to you Rob...

Rob is the man
Besides his choice in sports teams
We are glad to have him in the fam.

His love for red
And those runnin' Utes
Makes me want to drop dead.

We may not see eye to eye
When it comes to most things sports
But for being family, we sure do try.

It was obviously fate
That you married my cousin
But seriously Rob, I think your great.

*All copyrights for this poem are owned by Lauren. It was that good.*

Good Bye Old friend

Well today was a bitter sweet day in the Stiles Family life. We sold our beloved mini cooper. It will certainly be missed, but it is what needed to happen in our life right now. One day we want to own another. Niel diamond's song, "Hello Again," sums up best what one day will be happy reunion with a long lost mini cooper. This is how I picture our reunion, go to this link to view. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pwX-XzgcTM

I know Shaunee will appreciate this. Being a total self proclaimed blog stalker I found this on someone's blog and thought it was cute. If anyone knows me (like you Magurn) knows that I love these things. Pass it along if you'd like! It is for both spouses which is fun!

Dancing Queens

Don't you worry that this is a regular occurrence at the McGuire household on Sunday nights.  This post is a little late... this production was a few months ago, but we have a date to create our next production which may include a rendition of High School Musical 1, 2 and 3.

Major Slacker

Sorry for the major lack in posting as of late.  We have been busy with trips to California, new jobs, back to school, getting ready for the DAT, baby sitting ect, ect.  Not much new as of late besides my wonderful sister in law is prego with numero three.  Other than that... just plugging along.  Pictures of our latest trip to California coming!

A Picture of a Picture

Yes. This is a picture of a picture, a picture of a $15.00 picture to be exact (courtesy of the Circus-Circus). In fact it is the only picture we have of remembrance of our fun trip. Still from Thanksgiving, we have not charged our camera battery... We went down to Vegas with Mac and Nate to go and see Phantom, and of course, take a picture on Lake Mead of a shark getting us - and to warn you, this REALLY happened. (Shaunee and Emily). Thanks for inviting us you two and hope to be back soon! P-A-R-T-Y at the Planet Hollywood - with the Highway Patrolmen in Beaver.

Oh Deer!

These little guys are sure cute when they are little. I remember growing up in Washington and loving when the deer would journey into our back yard. Inexplicably the deer would stop coming when they were older and looked like this guy.

I now know why the little stopped coming into our back yard. They probably got hit by a car. For being cute and fun to look at, they sure are dumb. While driving on Canyon Road towards Alpine, one of these lovely creatures decided that it would be a good idea to jump on top of our car. I tried to slam on the breaks and swerve, the deer even made a last ditch effort to miss the car (a little too late if you ask me) and he jumped. As you can see from the picture the damage was isolated to pretty much the windsheild (thanks for jumping) and a few dents on the side of the car and now not functioning handle. Besides the minor damage and a scared to death wife (Lauren still swears that the deer looked at her and winked) we are ok and the car will be fixed.

Were Back

A big shout out to Mom and Dad Stiles for the FABOLOUS trip, which included - The Emerald Bowl (Cal vs. Miami), shooting at the range, mani's/pedi's, great movies, shopping, yummy foodies, taking care of Devan (the goober was sick the whole trip), tennis, and long walks on the beach. Ok, not that last one, but I know we all thought about it. Thanks so much for the great trip and the fun memories. Although we were short two (we missed you Dal and Kerry), we hope to be back shortly... and when I say shortly, like I am thinking next week when we get dumped with yet again, another pile of snow and we could use the get-away to the 'warm' weather. California love.

PS. Sorry for the lack of pictures. Took our camera - battery died - but Devan did bring our charger - but still didn't take any pictures. Don't know why and that's not a lie.?

Shooting

Went shooting yesterday... admist a good time with the Stiles clan - I felt a tingle inside of me that made me swear I was the following people...

My gun - James Bond (Daniel Craig style)
Dev's gun - Fidy Cent, T.I, (You get the point)
Father Steve's gun - Some sort of hot Russian spy chick (make your own assumptions)

Good times.

Must return home tomorrow, back to school, work, and life. Thanks for the fabolous trip and hope to be back soon! :-)
